The Origins Of The Hookah Come From The North Western Provinces Of India Along The Border Of Pakistan In Rajasthan And Gujarat Nearly A Millennia Back. In Persia, Before The Age Of Cigar And Cigarette, Hookah Was Used For Generations And Generally They Were Made From Clay. The Aristocrats And Wealthy Had The Upper Section Of Their Hookah Made From Silver And The Base Was Porcelain Or Crystal. Therefore Crafting The Hookah'S Top Section Became An Stage For The Silversmiths To Exhibit Their Talent. Since The Base Was Fragile We Are Left With Some Real Fine Metal Hookah. Ornate, hand chased brass on this large vessel.  Copper top ring and base, neatly mounted on antique door knobs.   Classic decoration including Islamic text.  Remains in great original condition direct from a local estate, makes a strong appearance.
Diameter ranges between 16" and 16.75".  14.25" tall, top diameter about 4.75".   Weighs 7 pounds, 5 ounces.
Excellent condition, no glaring issues, no repairs.   Expected patina and light signs of age and handling, no dents, no corrosion or pitting.  Even surface coloring, NO polishing was done.  There are some small voids or holes in the brass, one at the top just under the ring, some small holes around the base and base seam.   Does not appear to be a result of damage.   Solid, tight corners/edges with no wobble or play, feet are secure.
